Zingy lemon cake

One wedding related question I am regularly asked is whether I will be baking our wedding cake. Initially, my answer was no, thinking it would be unnecessary stress on the run up to the big day. But with time I have found myself coming around to the idea, much to John’s displeasure (he is a keen advocate of keeping me as calm as possible). My reasons are twofold: 1. I bake a lot, baking is what I do, so it would make sense to bake my own wedding cake, and 2. I refuse to pay someone hundreds of pounds to bake a cake when I wager I could do an acceptable job myself. Continue reading

So much of my time has been spent planning future events (engagement party, birthday party, the wedding), and whilst I do enjoy planning, I’m feeling the need to take some time out.
